THE BSM STAFF
Director
Steve Alberts
Steve has been the Director since May 2026. He and his wife, Shannon, are both graduates at East Texas Baptist University and were student leaders in the BSM! Steve also hold a Masters degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Thirty years of Student ministry in the local church in Texas and Arkansas has been the backdrop for Steves calling.
God has called Steve with a passion for sharing Christ and discipling other to love King Jesus more and more every day.
Steve and Shannon have three children and three grandchildren. Folded into ministry is a love of creating through art and a new love of writing.
Assistant Director
Abigayle Jonse
Abigayle has been the Assistant Director at the Kilgore BSM since January 2026. She and her husband, Ryan, both graduated from East Texas Baptist University. During her time at ETBU she served in the BSM on their worship team. Abigayle has a Bachelors Degree in Christian Ministry and Mental Health. Abigayle has served in some capacity of ministry since she was 13 years old. Abigayle continues to serve at her church in the youth and worship ministry where her husband is the youth pastor.
Abigayle has felt a calling to ministry since she was in High School and loves to serve college students at the BSM!
Abigayle and Ryan have been married for 2 years and are expecting their first baby in February 2027.
